This application must be updated! Not working actually… Store is unavaliable and adapt to Turkish app store please! I can’t add my billing address because i can’t change my country US to Turkey and we have a problem about downloading lessons...

Another version of GB and lesson store is still not working properly

I’ve been searching good DAW for amateurs on Windows but I never truly found anything close to GB. I’ve been trying mixcraft, protools se, audacity etc. but nothing was close to GB. I finally bought a macbook and it works flawlessy (everything OS and other software). On windows I’ve been strugling with crashes, errors, slowdowns, sound delays and everything bad you can imagine, since I bought GB nothing bothers me. I have best real time effects, amps, cabs etc. and I can simply change them even after record because it works like hardware not software and I can just turn it of and turn on something else :-)

When I go into the market I get error «The Lesson Store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.» . Very bad. (((

update the program, because the projects of the iOS Garageband are opened incorrectly, there are no such FX, loops etc. Good app!

To be honest, Apple succeded in creating one of the easiest and powerful DAW I’ve ever seen. Still there’s much to fix and add. Firstly, during the usage of a pedalboard plug-in, «Imaging» plug-ins refuse to work. They do not even show up no more. Moreover, while creating firstly an "Imaging" plug-in and then a pedalboard, the sound becomes really awful and guitar begins to distort as hell. Secondly, there’s a lot of work needed on Drummer. It would be just great to be able to control its speed (1/2 and 2x) even when it follows the rhuthm of the other track. For example, when I make a metal-styled song, I create a lot of samples and then, when I want to make the Drummer to do smth like «fast cardan kick» and a snare on every fourth click, and attach it to a guitar track, I suddenly realize, that snare is too fast (every second click) and I just can’t do anything about it! Of course, I can detach the Drummer from a guitar, but the tracks will not be grooving the same way, you know. And yeah, cardan kick style is a MUSTHAVE for Anders! I can’t understand why it isn’t here yet. And finally, I’d like to see a real-time controlled EQ, so I was free from manipulating with automation and could just record the changes in EQ. That’s pretty all for my preferences and wishes. All in all, GarageBand is awesome. It is easy, it is dynamical, it has a lot of different plug-ins, so you may not even need to download AU from the Internet… Yeah, by the way, lack of VST is pretty bad, cause there’s not too much AU plug-ins in the Net, but it’s not a big deal… One can create lots of different styles of music here, and everything sounds and works just as good as it is possible. Except the guitars. They’re awful and sound the same way. But I hope Apple will add some more guitars, ‘cause there were lots of updates with synths, but nothing new in guitars I see. Yeah, I hope so. Please, make a guitar update! That’s all I can say about GB. Rating is 4,4/5, which means 4 :D

I mostly use this program to cut the extra silence off songs in my iTunes, but once in a while I’ll make a remix of a song I like or record blurbs for my books. This program is great for all of that, but I do have one gripe about the design: the arrow that allows you to set the project’s end is now hidden behind the expander, or whatever it’s called. This gets pretty frustrating as I usually have to readjust it several times before it actually matches up with the end of the project. I’d happily give this app five stars if the expander were moved in the next update, but since I can’t give four and a half, I’ll just stick with giving it four for now.

i have too much problem using this app. i really wanted to give it 5 stars but it is not working well. I updated my version but still no loops were added. I tried it so many times but nothing is working. can somebody plz help me with this problem. i will be really thankful to you.

This is fantastic! SO happy to see Oboe and Basoon as an option this time around as well as more choir and horn options! Some istruments that I still long to see are a Harpsichord and a DEFINATELY Theremin, as well as whatever Apple throws at us next ;) Thanks Apple guys for bringing us yet another great update! NOTE: You can adjust the “Saturn Lead” Synth to sound similar to a Theremin, but an actual Theremin would be fantastic! For future updates :)

I’m starting to get into creating my own music - want to create my own drones. Talking with one of the guys sat the local Sam Ash about software, he recommended Garage Band to start out. Great advice!

The interface can be a bit glitchy and I feel like they turned a standalone application into an in app purchase nightmare, but otherwise it does most of what I want it to do. I would appreciate more advanced pitch correction so you can make autotuned vocals sound more natural because as an artist I have no control over pitch attack (default sounds like it’s set to 0ms) or what key it is limited to. I have no options to limit autotune to a certain scale, nor can I assing pitch targets to a recorded keyboard track (which would be amazing).

I have loved GarageBand in the past but this is horrible. I was editing two songs into one and suddenly the app froze and my whole computer would not respond. I know that it would be unreasonable for a late 2014 iMac to freeze up like this. It is clearly the app and not my computer. When it freezes like this, my only options are to wait it out (which it almost never seems to come out of it) or to force my computer to shut down. I’ve tried accessing the task manager to force quit the app that way but the task manager will not come up when it’s happening. This NEEDS to be fixed. This is unacceptable. Not to mention the damage it could cause from forcing my computer to shut down.

I love G’band. But I’m facing below error these days, when i open some Mainstage musical instruments from G’band. "The preset you are attempting to load was created with a newer version of Alchemy than you have installed, so it cannot be loaded.” Hope this issue is fixed at the earliest with a patch. Thanks GB.

i would give this a five star rating but it doesn’t let me share my track to sound cloud please fix

When creating a track with the older versions of GarageBand, I would delete the current queue and record and new project, using “Save “As” to save the new file. I would do this since there was no option to create a template, so to keep the same settings for all my recordings, I would just use “Save As”. Well, in GarageBand 10.1, doing this will just lose those tracks, so if you open an older file after having used “Save As", it will be lost without recovery. Additionally, this version is slower and much more prone to freezing than previous versions. Thanks for wasting my time, Apple.

I’ve been using this for a few months now and working on my EP. This has been my go to DAW for all my music creation. First and for most its definitely user friendly. Was a natural progression for me coming from an iPad and dabbling with music creation. After using that for a while I outgrew it and getting a Mac and copping GarageBand was a no brainer for me. I can create some broad ranges with this tool. Sticking with primarily RnB I was able to blend so many different styles to my craft making some great tracks… Great DAW once again. I do hope for some newer beats and sounds on some future releases, but its definitely doing the job.

I would really like it if we could use midi drum sets other than using premade rhythms or musical typing. I almost forgot but alchemy seems to be preventing me from using some of the features.

I really love this app and it has helped me with all of my songs which can be hear via soundcloud @$hmoney$ix. But I have been longing to do dubstep and a softer song but there is no pitch control for if I want a certain note to go higher or lower in pitch; and for slower songs I wish there was a fade control and not like how the volume gets quieter but if there weere a fade control to make like a final note of an apple loop or custom note to slowly fade and be longer instead of just ending. So I relly hope that there will be a new update soon and hopefully this is added.

Whenever Apple gets something right these days, they go and ruin it. iTunes gets less intuitive and harder to use with every update. Mavericks is useless eye candy. GarageBand is no different. So much harder to find things now, and adding effects to vocal tracks I have recorded in the past is now difficult or impossible. The effects are harder to find, and they are not all there or as easy to use. I actually downgraded back to Garageband 6.0.5 and I am much happier.
