I did a mix who took me 2 hours to do and at the end when i saved it it was complete silence and i lost all my songs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The design is very confusing. I have a brand new computer and I also play guitar. I followed the instructions and tried to record something and all this application does is give me an annoying metronome.

Love this app can make lots of good music :D

Changed Macs, tried fetching my existing lesson purchases and I’m being forced to buy the lessons a second time although it is showing the following message “You have already purchased this lesson. Would you like to buy it again”, no i want to redownload them once more!

I used to love playing around in Garageband as it wasn’t a professional product but it had enough variety in instruments to make it fun. With this new version it seems there’s less instruments (i.e. Only 1 regular piano) and even after purchasing/installing the 10GB add on, there’s still only one. With the seeming downgrade, I am now contemplating taking things to the next level wtih Logic but Apple has a history now of updating/removing features in iMove/Garageband, FinalCut, etc., so think I’ll look at the other 3rd party apps out there. Who knows, my buddy was showing his setup on Windows 8 this week and I’m finding it tempting (I think he was running Abelton and Image-Line FL Studio?) SIgh.

To me, this is a great app for somebody who doesn’t need a full music studio, but wants to make good quality music. It is a good app with easy to use features, and is simple to get used to. I love the fact that it is user friendly but doesn’t lack any necessities. The only thing that I would like added is automatable EQ, which I would find very helpful. Like it.

This application is not bad! You people just dont know how to work with garageband. Its a good app when you learn how to use it...

Apple, as a great company, we’ve all come to expect a lot from you. Update 10.0.2 falls below expectations by a large margin. As many have pointed out, the App Store continues to tell you this app needs to be updated, when the intsalled version is clearly the newest. Other issues have been noted by other users in the comments also. Please get this software up to par!!

it won’t download the sounds and loops.. thinking about returning the Mac book pro

I HATE this new Garageband. The last one Garageband I had was from 2012 and it was amazing, I loved it, but this new version is STUPID. It doesnt have half the stuff that my other one did, and what it does have doesnt work as nice. Downloading wasnt bad, but the actual functionality of it is bad. It doesnt let you open the old files in the new version either, it forces you to make a whole new file in order to open the song. Words cannot express how unsatisfied I am with this new version. I am mad with this and will start to look for a previous version to download.

how can i buy the full version of garage band ? it says that i already download it but its only the demo that comes with the mac how can i buy the full version of it????? i go to the menu to download more sound and i cant click on it

I have quite a few songs I created on the prior version, I loved it. I naturally thought this new upgrade would preserve my instruments (especially the synths). They have all now defaulted to flute-like sounds. Even after downloading the optional 5Gb add-on. What do I do to get my songs back???? My first Bad Apple!

After the update, all the voice settings don’t work it says “Could not find layout General Audio 10"

I loved using the old garageband, simple, straightforward and easy to use especially adding guitar rig to it. This new version is over saturated with useless stuff I don’t want nor need, I would love to download an older version and get back to recording that way. I’m sure Apple doesn’t care nor reads these reviews so beware before downloading.

It just fails to dwnload the initial sound banks and tells me to reopen it… cycle of failure=insanity

Sorry but this update is a tangled mess. Can’t quickly find the tools I need. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

After downloading it, I start it and it tells me it has to download content; after downloading it, it ALWAYS fails. I’ve tried everything I could I find in the forums and nothing has worked.

Has failed everytime so far in an attempt to install its sound contents. Off to a bad start.

Wish I could provide a review on the actual app itself, paid for it, got charged for it, and fails to download. Buyer Beware

I don’t really understand Apple’s committment to destruction and re-creation rather than evolution of a product. The new garage band would be mediocre but acceptable without comparing it to the old one, but having used GarageBand for years, I am saddened to see it replaced with something so uninspired and unambitious. Good software used to be a love letter from Apple to its customers. What happened, Apple, what HAPPENED??
