Grate for making music!! bets app I could get out there!! I havent had any troubleshooting when I used it on a mid-2012 model MacBook Air. It also has very good sound quality. You guys should reall try thi! Enjoy!!!
Don’t you remember a couple years ago when everyone was saying, Oh my God, Garage band is gone as we once new it forever. I can’t remember the exact time and date that I decided to see what all the fuss was about. Im actually starting to believe, it was more, the fact that when some people downloaded Garage band X, they wound up deleting version 11. (I guess they didn’t realize that wasn’t necessary.Once I figured out where the Instruments and Plug-Ind were, I was pretty much hooked. Then came the next couple updates. (Please don’t quote me). Garage band is like Logic Pro X only without all the complex jargon. At least as far as Making Top quality Recordings. You wouldn’t even have to buy any plug-Ins to make a Top notch recording but us Producers and Recording engineers we love to buy them and I don’t blame anyone one bit. Whats my Point? Garage Band X, is one of the easiest DAWs to learn and can produce some of the best top quality High definition, CD Quality, recordings on the market and I absolutely love it and everything about it. You want to learn Logic Pro X I say. No problem, just master Garage band X first. You can get just as professional results, without the migraine headaches. Review by Jaysen Zaffino.(P.S.) 1-more thing, I’ve heard people say that using loops and plug-ins is like cheating. Well everyones entitle to their own opinion but to me thats like saying you can’t be an artist If you use more than one color of paint. Thank you and have fun with Garage Band X.
Ok the audio errors I encounted were from old apps of IK Multimedia. Although I deleted “uninstalled” files were left in HD>Library>Audio>Plugins>Components Once cleared Garageband installed without any problems. Interface is quicker, simple & lots of samples a nice improvement.
Zitat: "I had the same problem with Garageband (not being able to download and install instruments & loops), called the tech. support. They wanted me to do the following: - Click App store - Click store on the top bar - click "check for unfinished download". (at this point, I realized that I started and paused the download of Imovie and I photo earlier) - Somehow the downloads were completed. (If not, complete all the updates you have started) - Tech service asked me to run Garageband, said it will download the "instruments and loops" and work normally, which was actually the case. - Tech. service explained that these softwares are a complete package (Ilife), so the paused updates caused the problem. I hope it works for you and for the other people having the same problem as well.“ Bei mir hat es funktioniert nachdem ich Apple-Id eingegeben habe. Vielleicht auch nur Zufall. Viel Glueck
I have downloaded for piano lessons, but, Lesson store is offline.
Next thing I know, I’m in the midst of a mega download with no progress bar to indicate how much of my life I will never get back…. Now, no way to stop this beast? I guess I’ll have to phone Apple Care and get them to walk me through the removal? Or just go to the library and dump it? Not one good review. I wish I had read these before I clicked ‘install’. It’s late. I should know better.
After a recent update, GarageBand can now recognize my third party interface perfectly. This was a big problem for a while that was shared with Logic Pro X, which I bet really enraged some other people. It is fixed everywhere, but I still don’t exactly have a reason to upgrade to Logic Pro X yet, so I bought the 4.99 upgrade in GB. I seriously recommend doing this if you are going to use GarageBand in any serious manner. It doesn’t do everything that I want or need a DAW to do in the future (like Logic), but it works great for putting together songs, and adding to them.
just had this installed and not overly impressed. love the idea of learning new chords however the system seems inconsistent when picking up the sound to confirm having played the correct note. not a pro guitar player however i know I can play a simple Em chord with no trouble yet the app does not agree. fix this
I was super used to the old Garageband but wanted an update, so I downloaded this because of the new interface. BIG MISTAKE. I can’t do ANYTHING in Garageband anymore! I can’t even figure out how to change the volume of an individual track. The worst part is, I can’t even open my project in the old Garageband version, so I’d have to do everything all over again! PLEASE FIX IT APPLE!
I’ve seen nothing but less than favourable reviews on the new garageband, but I don’t know what they are talking about. I have had zero problems with it, and it sounds great. The new interface looks great, and is very easy to use. There is a bunch of new stuff as well, such as effects pedals and so forth. I actually like the amp sounds better than before! Maybe I just lucked out, but this new garageband is really a vast improvement over the old version.
After the huge amount of downloading and purchasing of the extra sounds I find much has been an improvement, but much is still lacking. I very much dislike the fact that the almost all of the GB effects such as chorus, virtual amp, and others such sounds for individual tracks have been (to my knowledge) removed and replaced with an oversimplification of just reverb and delay and other such basics, adding layers like an amp effect on a piano is missed as it was fun to experiment. I recommend Apple brings much of the older effects and such back!
“Wish I had listend to the reviews and not downloaded it” DONT LET THIS BE YOU Recommend not downloading until the bugs described below are fixed. Suff isn’t loading, unexpected things happen like ctrl+z reverts other changes other than the one you just made and more. Crazy annoying. Looks great though.
Since Mavericks I decided to load a song I did last year to master it. Won’t even load. Get Audio Units error, yet these plugins work fine in Cubase. I can’t even get around it to open the program, there really should be an option to ignore loading plugins that don’t work with it anymore. Why with an update do your UP TO DATE plugins you pay for become unuseable is unconscionable! I should have stuck with my older version I would have actually been able to use it! Please fix thism the Older version Garage Band was great. Bring the greatness back.
I used to use garageband at least once a day but now, the backgrounds are hard to look at, all the useful commands have been removed and it is just impossible to use. Not to mention it deleted all my premade instruments for no apparent reason whatsoever. I don’t want all the extra pay-for instruments but it shows them all in my instruments selection without me buying them anyway. This makes it impossible to manoeuver through the presets. The piano roll option for editing software instruments no longer snaps to the right spot properly and makes all the music off-beat because mistakes are too easily made. The grey background in the piano roll from version 9 looked just fine aestheticely but the black one is too hard to see and is horrible. All these problems that have appeared in version 10 need to be fixed. Whoever thought up these changes should be fired. They ruined garageband.
reviews all same result, thanks for the warning, won’t download this one
This incredible app, it fits beautifully when worked in tandem with the iOS versions. The loop selection is awesome, its accessibility and user interfaces are off the charts, I just dont understand why people are complaining and whining so much. Its a big download is a complaint? I understand people sometimes have caps, and hardware space issues, but its a very robust app that has a lot to offer. It almost seems that these complaints are manufactured? If I were to complain about the app, or what has been happening with many of the new versions of apple apps, and the mavericks os is that they swallow up RAM. no way to use these with less than 8gb of RAM minimum!
I recently updated my GarageBand from the older version, to this newly designed version on my Mac Mini (i7). After a few months of tinkering around with it I have found myself very much missing the older version. True, there are a ton of great new sounds and loops (for purchase) with the newer version, and they are without doubt terrific. My main issue is with the interface - pretty, but a lot more limiting than the older version. I create a lot of electronic music, and I find the new layout and options for filters and instrument alteration very restrictive, frustrating, and difficult to achieve specifically what was once very simple. My opinion, is that what Apple has done, is tried to simplify GB so much to create more of a gap between it and Logic - to limit what you can do in GB so that you’ll want to purchase Logic to achieve a better music. I guess they felt people were making too good of music without needing to use Logic.
