I really dislike this new version of Garage Band. I got a new hard drive on my computer and had to do a clean install of Yosemite and then downloaded Garage Band. Since I do not have the old version of Garage Band on my hard drive anymore all the legacy vocal presets are gone. All I wanted was to continue to use the podcast presets that cleaned up the sound from the shoddy microphone that Mac gives you with your iPhone, but alas those are not available to me anymore. I have a lot of other issues with what mac had sone to controlling audio inputs and outputs in general too, but I will save that for another review. But seriously, why the heck would I create an “aggregate” input just to separate it in garage band? When are you going to get rid of the visual knobs apple? It would be great if the gesture I make on my trackpad and mouse were visually coherent with what I see onscreen.

I love using the GarageBand app and all, but there is just one problem. I am not able to crop real music regions. I am trying to make a track, and I needed to crop the regions, and it will not let me crop the region. Please get this fixed. I really need to use it.

For everyone complaining about this please realize that this is a 5 dollar app… if you really are serious about producing anything thats worth listening to buy an actual software like logic or abelton. this is great for just messing around with sounds or throwing some ideas together

I am livid that you can no longer edit a podcast project in here. Technically you probably still can if you pretend your podcast is an acapella song, but it’s very cumbersome. Why remove it?! Am I missing something? Please someone find a way to correct me if I’m wrong and I will change the score. I just want the simple garageband podcast editor that I loved using.

does anyone know how to load songs from itunes onto garage band?

Have spent hours trying to figure this out… Or how to get this feature. Dissappointing..

I currently have 4 loops in a song. That’s it. The second I try to do anything with it, whether it’s adding more tracks or reposititioning the loops, the app with freeze. This is super annoying. It’s been doing this for over 2 months now. I’m using it on a brand new iMac. This shoudn’t be happening!

Took a few attempts to start Garageband, then it worked for a few hours and then crashed. Since then nothing I’ve been able to do gets it to start without immediately crashing again. I’ve restarted my MacPro, I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled, nothing works, and none of the user forums are any help. Deeply frustrating!

Hard to understand

I found the lessons very helpful but now every time I try to download more I get the error message “The Lesson Store is temoporarily unavailable”. It has been a week now, and I tried unistalling and reinstalling. Very disapointed.

Just upgraded garage band and so far it is not different than the previous non-intuitive, cluncky piece of crap I had on my mac before upgrading. Apple stop getting in the way with your products that don’t work. Admit your misgivings and lead us to people/companies that do certain things better than you. I’ve thrown away enough money with you thinking something would be easy when it’s not.

Kind of B.S. that it’s suddenly a paid for app. I have had a macbook pro for a while now and I reinstalled yosemite after cleaning up my drive and suddenly I have to pay to reinstall it. Seems a bit shady to me. That’d be like turning around and suddenly charging for iMovie or to download iTunes.

IF you guys look at the MB storage it says 9-1-1 :( A bad day was for USA i am just saying itsweird And the app is great i have it on my phone and the computer :D

Easy to use and powerful

cant figure this out for the life of me. put in hours of work and i cant export it

everytime i drag a track iinto it, it closes back to the desktop and comes up with an error message. ive uninstalled and installed it many times! FIX IT!

I don’t think it has ever actually just crashed on me before. Has some new great songwriting tools - really wished it could record at 48k.. But none of that matters if it crashes. A tool that is designed as a way to quickly get your ideas down and create - is not allowed to crash… it’s a deal breaker - This isn’t 1998 - programs should not be hard crashing. Simply Not good.

So tired of fighting with this stupid thing! It crashes never loads completely and its a shame because if it were right it would rule because of the simplicity (in concept)! Maybe it’s my wonderful Macbook that cost 1300.00 I guess it’s not good enough!

from an old roland tr 808 ,707, 727 user i am amazed how many different sound i can use with this program to make beats mac you’ve done it again. arranging producing taping out sound this makes it so much sweeter . i really wish that this just gets better with more sounds in time thank you apple you guys rock

I recently purchased Auto_Tune EFX 3 64 and I’m trying to use it with garage band but i don’t see it under my effects? any idea why?
